On September 4, 2012, First Lady Michelle Obama performed her speech at the Democratic National Convention to promote her husband for an additional presidential term. The speech focused primarily on giving the audience insight into Barack Obama's personal, rather than political, life. For example, Michelle described both her and Barack's background and upbringing, as well as memories of Barack before he married Michelle or became a senator.
